Xbox 360 Impressions Update

CatanI’ve been playing some more Catan in the last days. After a meal, it’s nice to pop in a multiplayer match. Because I ALWAYS loose, I get frustrated quickly and leave the console rather then getting stuck in front of it. Generally it is very good. It could use some interface tweaking though. Very important [...]

Xbox 360 Impressions: Gears of War

Gears of WarI just wanted to add this to my recent list of first impressions of Xbox 360 Games. I had the opportunity to play the first two chapters of Gears of War now. I really can’t understand the hype it received. It is a solid but VERY dull shooter with some polish, balancing and [...]

X-Box Game Impressions

After my recent comment on my early impressions of the X-Box 360 hardware, here are what I think about some of the games I’ve tried so far:

X-Box 360 – First Impressions

After the annoying retail experience here are the early impressions from my first two days of X-Box 360 ownership (ownage?):

X-Box 360 Bundles are BAD

I was fortunate enough to grab a used HDTV for almost nothing from a relative. Having the TV and no HD source I got into the problem of choosing which HD Console to purchase. Some days ago I complained about some bad choices Nintendo made this holiday season. But those are nothing when compared to [...]

Currently Playing Update

I’ve updated the Currently Playing list. I consider the games further down the list still as games “I play”. I got in them to some point and I’m planning to finish them in the near future. In fact, I display them prominently in my flat so I remember they are there.
However, one week ago my colleague [...]

Nintendo loosing their touch?

I must say that I really respect Nintendo for what they have done in the past few years. With their Blue Ocean Strategy they successfully subverted the technology rat race and got out of the dead-end the games industry was going towards. The fact that their games were considered as “childish” or “technologically inferior” by [...]

Space

Space geekout time! I was recently at the Cologne Center Station and saw this:

It is some kind of special edition of National Geographic about space. Naturally, I bought it and boy was I in for a treat! It is awesome! Of course, it contains great photos but you expect that from National Geographic. What you don’t [...]

Night Work

So the Excit Project is pretty much wrapped up. I’ll post the link as soon as it is online. I’ll also might write a post-mortem on the old Excit soon.In case you’ve been wondering what I was doing for the last few days, I can tell you right now pretty precisely, thanks to the excellent [...]

The Power of Animation

I’m currently doing a quick re-write of my old game Excit. Just wrapping it up now so I can get back on track with my other projects like Illucinated. I have already written how surprised I was about it’s success. After one year, we have over 2,5 Million players. And that’s not even unusual for [...]
