Monster Hunter Tri First Impressions

I have a confession to make. I went a little bit crazy with new games recently. Apart from Super Street Fighter IV and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, I also got Monster Hunter Tri. And I didn’t get the normal version, oh no. I went all the way to get this (not my video):

Why getting the über-special-edition? [...]

Star Trek: Humans and Space

Star Trek: Humans and Space

I recently finally came about to watch that Star Trek Special Edition Blu-Ray. I think I bought it around last Christmas or so. It was long overdue. Like most people I like the film very much. I think that it is one of the best Star Trek movies. But that doesn’t say much since the [...]

A Post a Day Keeps Epic Fail Away

A Post a Day Keeps Epic Fail Away

Recently at GDC I met George Kokoris who is eh cool guy, makes gaem design and doesn’t afraid of nothing. He just stated this challenge called #oneaday. The idea is to post something at your blog at least once a day for a year. And since this place has been awfully quiet recently I thought [...]

Red Faction Guerrilla: On Multi-Player

Red Faction Guerrilla: On Multi-Player

After the recent last article I actually have something more I say about Red Faction: Guerrilla before letting the game go. I have actually spent a lot of time with the game. Most of it playing multi-player. For once because I wanted to once get in such an on-line gaming community. So far I’ve been [...]

IGF / GDC 2010 Wrap-Up

… but somehow I survived nonetheless. I recently saw that it is now one month since I returned from San Francisco. After my return, somehow my life exploded into an even bigger mess than before. It was a bit like in Burnout Revenge crash mode when you get an extra explosion AFTER you already exploded [...]

TRAUMA will be a Facebook Game

TRAUMA will be a Facebook Game

I have been holding off with my GDC recap (coming soon!) because I was busy doing some significant changes to the TRAUMA project. Inspired by life-changing events at GDC, I have decided to make TRAUMA into a Facebook game. I am almost done with the beta and I am currently looking for beta testers.

Preparing for IGF

Preparing for IGF

I’m leaving for San Francisco tomorrow. Even though the game is still not quite done, I’m happy with the progress I made. Yesterday we did the mastering of pretty much every audio in the game. So at least the audio part is done and if we get lucky it might be in a final state [...]

More TRAUMA Information

More TRAUMA Information

Short update on TRAUMA. I know things are getting a bit silent here. That’s mostly because I’m trying not to get swamped in work and get TRAUMA as much done as I can before the IGF. I’m still working on that Intro. I think I will wrap up some of the more complex CGI scenes [...]

Interviews with yours truly

I’m currently helping out organizing this year’s Global Game Jam in Cologne. The first day was very exciting. But now it’s the middle of the night and I’m tired. However I have plenty of time to catch up with some to-dos. For example to share with you two interviews I had recently.
One of them was done [...]

Rescued by Apple

Rescued by Apple

Some very dramatic changes happened in the last few days. First, I finally got a new workstation. But then it’s a MacBook. So I Bootcamp’ed it and put Windows 7 on it. And then I decided to throw away most of the crap on my desk, especially my old CRT Monitor. Workspace feels very comfy now.
