Introduction: Welcome to GameDesign Reviews

Game Design Reviews is a Blog used by three Game Designers from Germany to publish and discuss their thoughts on various games. As you can see, the description of this blog reads “Inductive Game Design Research”. It may sound a bit too theoretical but the idea is simple. “Game Design” is simply the process of developing ideas and concepts for new games, in this case especially computer games. Because the theory of game design is still almost non-existent, we have to invent it – hence: research. Inductive means using particular facts and examples to form general rules and principles.
The Blog will consist entirely of reviews of games. Each review will focus on the important game design ideas and concepts of that particular game. Hopefully, after some time we will come up with a collection of various principles of game design that can be applied on other games as well.
So basicly, we are a bunch of guys that play a lot of games and want to find out how they work by taking them apart.
