Gesundheit!

Recently, I start looking at indie games to prepare myself for my diploma. Here is a nice one I’ve stumbled upon. It’s called “Gesundheit!” and it is made by Matt Hammill. The gameplay is solid – it’s sneaking with a nice (and funny) twist. The thing that strikes me is the amazing quality of the artwork. It looks like drawn with crayons, yet there seems some computerized post-processing involved . The result is stunning.

However, although it is very exciting to see fresh eye candy, I ask myself if such visual strategy is a good idea. It makes the game look quite infantile after all. Playing it, I found myself feeling too old.

P.S.: Nice business card!

Well, my point is that it looks like something for children.

About

The Game Design Scrapbook is a second blog of group of three game designers from Germany. On our first blog, Game Design Reviews we describe some games we played and point out various interesting details. Unfortunately, we found out that we also need some place to collect quick and dirty ideas that pop into our minds. Hence, welcome to Game Design Scrapbook. You will encounter wild, random rantings. Many of then incoherent. Some of them maybe even in German. If you don't like it, you might enjoy Game Design Reviews more.
